Fahrelnissa Zeid’s retrospective at Tate Modern

Fahrelnissa Zeid’s – one of the first exponents of abstract art in Turkey – first retrospective exhibition in United Kingdom opens in London on June 13. The exhibition will bring together Zeid’s paintings, drawings and sculptures spanning over 40 years, from her expressionist works made in Istanbul in the early 1940s, to immersive abstract canvases exhibited in London, Paris and New York in the 1950s and 1960s. The exhibition curated by Kerryn Greenberg and Vassilis Oikonomoupoulos and sponsored by Deutsche Bank will be on view until October 8.
