SHIRIN NESHAT GAVE A TALK AT THE 37TH ISTANBUL FILM FESTIVAL
Shirin Neshat is in the jury of the Human Rights in Cinema Competition organized in the context of the thirty seventh edition of the Istanbul Film Festival. In 2009, she directed her first feature-length film, Women Without Men and received the Silver Lion for Best Director at the Venice Film Festival. Her second feature film, Looking for Oum Kulthum is included in the programme of the Istanbul Film Festival to be held on 6-17 April. Neshat will talk about her ideas on photography, cinema, and visual arts at the festival talk to be moderated by cinema critic Esin Küçüktepepınar. The talk took place on 15 April, at 14:00, at Beyoğlu Yapı Kredi Culture and Art Center.
