Dirimart Pera is opening

Dirimart is pleased to announce its second gallery space in Istanbul. Located on the lower ground floor of the former Union Française building on Meşrutiyet Street in Beyoğlu, Dirimart Pera is preparing to open its doors in September 2022. The gallery aims to expand its artistic program between its main gallery space in the Dolapdere district, a continuously growing art hub as a result of urban transformation projects, and Pera; the home to many of esteemed art institutions, the area is regarded as Istanbul’s most attractive cultural center from the nineteenth century to the present.
The building was built in 1896 by French origine Levantine architect Alexandre Vallaury who had significant contributions to the architecture of nineteenth century Istanbul. It served as a local for the affluent French colony which had a very influential presence in the social scene. Until recently, the building served as the temporary home to the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art.
