Ichwan Noor (b. 1963, Jakarta) graduated from the School of Visual Arts at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) in Yogyakarta. A Professor of Fine Arts at the Yogyakarta State University, Noor’s solo exhibitions include Beetle Sphere, Reflex Gallery, Amsterdam (2018); The Maker, Mon Décor Gallery, Jakarta (2011) and Phantom of the Bodies, Sigiart Gallery, Jakarta (2008). His group exhibitions include In Times of Plenty: The Shape of Things Today, Reflex Amsterdam, Amsterdam (2018); Fiesta Old City Jakarta, Jakarta Endowment for Art and Heritage (JEFORAH), Jakarta (2014); ArtJog “Maritime Culture”, Taman Budaya, Yogyakarta (2013); Pleasures of Chaos, Primo Marella Gallery, Milan (2010); Unfold, Taman Budaya, Yogyakarta (2008) and Alam Hati Kecil, Edwin’s Gallery, Jakarta (2002). In 2011, he received the Best Artwork Award at the Indonesia Art Motoring: Motion and Reflection held at the National Gallery of Indonesia. Ichwan Noor lives and works in Jakarta.
