YÜKSEL ARSLAN

We’d like to honour the recently departed literary master Ferit Edgü by sharing a speech he delivered in 2017 during the farewell ceremony organised in memory of esteemed artist Yüksel Arslan, Edgü’s close friend and one of Dirimart’s artists.

Curated by Ali Akay, the 6th Mardin Biennial titled Further Away showcases 41 artists, including Ayşe Erkmen, Güçlü Öztekin, İnci Eviner, Nasan Tur, Sarkis, and Yüksel Arslan, exploring the theme of transcending societal limits.

Yüksel Arslan’s Arture 188, 1978, Arture 538, Schopenhauer, 2000, Arture 536, Walseries, 2000, Arture 539, 2000 and Arture 548, Pessoa, 2001 were acquired by the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.

A Selection from the Collection of Atty. Ulaş Değirmenci: Faces and Mysteries curated by Dilek Karaaziz Şener brings together prominent modern and contemporary artists' works from Turkey at the CerModern.

Dirimart participates in the Abu Dhabi Art Fair in November 16–20. Selection of works of Yüksel Arslan, Âbidin Elderoğlu, Ayşe Erkmen, İnci Eviner, Seçkin Pirim, Sarkis, Canan Tolon, Nasan Tur, and Fahrelnissa Zeid can be visited at Dirimart’s booth no. A1.

A Yüksel Arslan exhibition is held at Centre Pompidou in October 12, 2022–January 22, 2023. The exhibition titled La dation Yüksel Arslan presents a wide selection that reflects decades of the artist’s oeuvre.

Bringing together works by thirty eight artists, the exhibition titled Grief and Pleasure meets the art-lovers at Odunpazarı Modern Museum between September 7, 2022 and July 30, 2023.

Dirimart participates in Contemporary Istanbul organized through September 19–22, with a selection of 32 works by 26 artists living and working in Istanbul and major centers of contemporary art such as Berlin, London, New York, Paris,Seoul and Istanbul.
