Nasan Tur is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans performance, installation, sculpture, video, and works on paper. Drawing on gestures, language, images, and behaviours encountered in public space and the media, Tur’s incisive examinations of power and ideology create spaces for critical reflection, exposing the social conventions and structures that shape contemporary experience while affirming the possibility of individual agency. Responding to the political and social realities of the present, Tur addresses themes of resistance, freedom of expression, collective action, vulnerability, and the ethical ambiguities of political engagement. Combining conceptual rigour with irony, humour, and self-exposure, he often uses his own body as a medium through which to explore questions of risk, failure, endurance, and personal responsibility.
