Kemal Önsoy (b. 1954, Isparta) studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Marmara University, graduating in 1980. His selected solo and group exhibitions include Kemal Önsoy, Antrepo 3, Istanbul (2013); Painting As Painting, Borusan Art Collection, Istanbul (2011); Modernity and Beyond, Santral Istanbul Art Museum, Istanbul (2007); Istanbul Pedestrian Exhibitions II, Tünel–Karaköy, Istanbul (2005); Plazma İçinde Açamayan Gül, Istanbul Modern, Istanbul (2005); Surrounded by Humans, Galeri Nev, Ankara (2004); Organised Conflict, Elgiz Museum, Istanbul (2003); and Kan Dolaşımlı Ağaçlarım Var, Galeri Nev, Ankara (2002). Önsoy participated in the 25th São Paulo Biennial with Metropolitan Iconographies (2002); the 7th Istanbul Biennial with Egofugal–Fugue from Ego for the Next Emergence (2001); the 4th International Istanbul Biennial with Dan Lynch (1995); and the 44th Venice Biennial, where he exhibited alongside Mithat Şen in a presentation curated by Beral Madra (1990). Kemal Özsoy lives and works in Istanbul.
