Kemal Önsoy (b. 1954, Isparta) studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Marmara University, graduating in 1980. Önsoy participated in the 25th São Paulo Biennial with Metropolitan Iconographies (2002); the 7th Istanbul Biennial with Egofugal–Fugue from Ego for the Next Emergence (2001); the 4th International Istanbul Biennial with Dan Lynch (1995); and the 44th Venice Biennial, where he exhibited alongside Mithat Şen in a presentation curated by Beral Madra (1990).
