İnci Eviner at Frieze Sculpture 2024

Dirimart is proud to announce that Materials of Mind Theatre by İnci Eviner will be showcased at Frieze Sculpture 2024, set in The Regent’s Park.
İnci Eviner engages in drawing, video, and performance art. Her creations frequently start with sketches and develop into intricate works that delve into a variety of visual languages.
Eviner’s installation Materials of Mind Theatre merges sculpture with performance to create a dynamic theatrical experience, featuring ceramic sculptures arranged on a platform that acts as a stage and a pedestal. It invites the audience to craft their own narratives inspired by ambiguous sculptures titled with evocative names.
In this transformative space, the sculptures interact with a live performance titled Under One Body that commences with the performer mobilising a flexible costume replicating arms, legs, and hands, which, in the artist’s words, ‘challenges and redefines the conventional relationship between body and mind.’ The interaction between the performance and the sculptures blurs the lines between the animate and inanimate, making it an inspiring work of art for theatrical and sculptural art.

Materials of Mind Theatre can be viewed from 18 September to 27 October 2024 at The Regent’s Park, London.
