Ghada Amer’s Big Rumi, her first public art installation in the United States, is presented as part of the Public Art Programme of the Institute of Arab & Islamic Art (IAIA). Based on repeated Arabic inscriptions of the phrase attributed to Rumi, ‘What you seek is seeking you,’ the installation brings the artist’s ongoing exploration of language, translation, and identity into the public realm. Big Rumi is on view until March 2026 at the Institute of Arab & Islamic Art.
