John Armleder at Biennale Son

John Armleder participates in Biennale Son, which takes place from 30 August to 30 November and focuses on the growing importance of sound in contemporary art from a multidisciplinary perspective, with his exhibition No Instruction. Comprising two works of the same title – one a stack of A2-sized paper and the other a 3 x 4-metre flag – the exhibition is dedicated to John Cage, whom Armleder encountered at a young age and who marked a turning point in his practice. It questions the relationship between art and freedom while highlighting art’s capacity to open up space to everyone and everything. Within the framework of the biennial, No Instruction will be on view across two different venues, La Centrale and Le Silo, until 30 November.
