Sarkis participates in the Biennale d’Autun with his work L’atelier d’aquarelle dans l’eau (Watercolour in Water Workshop), on view from 18 July to 10 August 2025. The title highlights the significance of motion in art history and challenges the traditional Western perception of art as a static, unchanging narrative. By allowing watercolour to move freely in water, beyond the confines of the canvas, Sarkis proposes an alternative artistic approach grounded in fluidity and impermanence. The workshop turns into a space where visitors are invited to reconsider history and artworks as living, constantly evolving entities.
