Ghada Amer is among the participating artists in Cactus, a group exhibition at Nouveau Musée National de Monaco’s Villa Sauber building, on view from 6 July 2025 to 11 January 2026. Organised in collaboration with the Musée YVES SAINT LAURENT Marrakech, the exhibition examines the cultural and scientific fascination with cacti and succulents, tracing their journey from arid landscapes into Western consciousness via 19th-century exploration and horticulture. Cactus reveals how these resilient plants have captivated artists and designers from the early 20th century to today, presenting over 200 objects, including botanical specimens, archival materials, contemporary artworks, and design pieces. Extending into the gardens of Villa Sauber, which are transformed into a vibrant cactus landscape, the exhibition offers a compelling intersection of science, symbolism, and artistic imagination.
