Fahrelnissa Zeid at Belvedere Museum

Fahrelnissa Zeid is featured in Radical! Women Artists and Modernism 1910–1950, a major group exhibition at Belvedere Museum, Vienna, on view from 18 June to 12 October 2025. Bringing together over sixty female artists from more than twenty countries, the exhibition re-examines Modernism through the lens of boundary-pushing women artists. Despite their diverse backgrounds and styles, the artists share a commitment to developing new visual languages to represent the modern world. The works challenge traditional narratives and reflect on political events, gender roles, and social transformation while embedding the aesthetics of Modernism into everyday life. Rather than fitting these artists into a linear history, Radical! highlights their unique practices, ranging from abstraction to figuration, critique to activism, while confronting the male-dominated art canon that historically marginalised them.
