Sarah Morris participates in Paint: Paintings from the Marli Hoppe-Ritter Collection, a group exhibition at Museum Ritter in Waldenbuch, running until 21 April. The exhibition explores contemporary developments in non-representational painting through a selection of around forty works, most created after 2000. Paint highlights a diverse range of artistic approaches, from mathematically precise compositions to expressive, gestural brushwork that creates dynamic colour fields. The exhibition also includes Shaped Canvases, which challenge the conventional rectangular format of paintings and integrate the works into their architectural surroundings. Through this multifaceted selection, Paint reflects on the enduring relevance of painting in an era dominated by digital imagery, reaffirming its place as a fundamental mode of artistic expression.
