Ghada Amer at Fondation Carmignac

Ghada Amer participates in The Infinite Woman, organised by Fondation Carmignac at Villa Carmignac on Porquerolles Island from 27 April to 3 November 2024. Curated by Alona Pardo, the exhibition examines the diverse representations of women throughout history while challenging traditional ideas on concepts such as identity, sexuality, pleasure, and power. Featuring over eighty works by more than sixty artists, including figures like Louise Bourgeois, Egon Schiele, and Judy Chicago, the exhibition spans various disciplines, from painting and sculpture to photography and ceramics. The Infinite Woman invites visitors on a journey through themes such as myths, motherhood, desire, and the evolving nature of gender in the 21st century, offering a poetic celebration of feminine multiplicity and a redefinition of social norms.
