Dirimart is pleased to announce the release of its new exhibition catalogue in June 2024, which is to be published in conjunction with the first solo exhibition of Albert Bitran at Dirimart between 3 May–2 June 2024, titled Land of Shadows Land of Sky, showcasing one of the pioneering figures of abstract expressionism that flourished in Paris after World War II. Focusing on the spatial sensitivity that the artist maintained throughout his career as well as the fluidity between the series he produced in different periods, the trilingual book in Turkish, English and French features two insightful articles by the art historian and critic Clotilde Scordia and the poet, writer and pianist Laure Cambau, delving into Bitran’s distinctive practice and his selected artworks. Also including the inventory numbers listed in the catalogue raisonne of Albert Bitran, which is currently in preparation and planned to be accessible in 2026, the book meets its readers by Nazlı Erdemirel’s artwork and installation photographs.
