Karin Kneffel at the Municipal Gallery Bietigheim-Bissingen

From 16 March 2024 to 16 June 2024, the Municipal Gallery in Bietigheim-Bissingen presents Reiche Ernte – Früchte in der Kunst des 20. und 21. Jahrhunderts, organised by the Kunststiftung of Prof. Dr. Rainer Wild. Showcasing around a hundred works across various mediums such as painting, drawing, watercolour, printmaking, sculpture, and video, the exhibition explores the aesthetic and symbolic significance of fruits in art from the 20th and 21st centuries, featuring contributions from distinguished artists, including Alexej von Jawlensky, Gabriele Münter, Andy Warhol, Georg Baselitz, and notably, Karin Kneffel. The selection delves into the recurrent motif of fruits in art, from their vibrant hues and forms to their deep symbolic meanings, offering sensory layers that bridge historical and contemporary narratives in art.
