Ayşe Erkmen at PROTOTIPOAK International Biennial of New Artistic Forms

With her installation titled Myself on Site, Ayşe Erkmen participates in PROTOTIPOAK International Biennial of New Artistic Forms between 30 May and 3 June 2023. Her site-specific intervenes in one of the 16-meter-high iron columns located in the main entrance to Azkuna Zentroa’s Atrium. A green tape is woven around the pillar from floor to ceiling like an ivy. The fabric, signed with her name and repeated multiple times by way of a logo or brand, confers the work in the form of a self-portrait on authorship, reproduction, identity and identification. The Biennial shows contemporary creation through leading international artists and companies whose proposals move between the visual arts, performing arts, cinema and audiovisuals or the word, with site-specifics, performances, installations, and interventions in the public space and ephemeral architectures.
