Seçkin Pirim’s sculpture is in the permanent collection of The Private Museum

Dirimart is pleased to announce that Seçkin Pirim’s sculpture entitled 3 Times 3 Square is in the permanent collection of The Private Museum, Singapore. The sculpture acquired to the collection and a part of Dirimart’s ART SG selection is among the artist's first pieces based on the notion of sanctuary.

Seçkin Pirim offers silent propositions without taking refuge from modernism in the promises such as heaven, enlightenment and spiritual reclusion. He urges his contemporaries to look beyond the societal expectations and its usual alternatives beside the established religions, and to see the art. The first example of the series Sanctuary based on these ideas, 3 Times 3 Square is inspired by the places of worship and reclusion that humanity considered holy and opened its heart to. The forms that multiply by repeating themselves and have numerological references invite the spectators to discover the meaning hidden in the details of the artwork, just like a human being discovering their self through an inner journey.

Seçkin Pirim (b. 1977, Ankara) associates his life to his sculptures, composed of repeating forms. Having exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions at local and international art institutions, the artist has received more than 20 awards in sculpture and design. His works have been exhibited at several  international institutions including Borusan Sanat, Pera Museum, Museum Haus Konstruktiv, Glory Yeh Museum & Sculpture Park, Yverdon-les-Bains and Saatchi Gallery. Among the public collections including his works are: The National Art Museum of China, Istanbul Modern Museum of Art, Eczacıbaşı Foundation, Odunpazarı Modern Museum, Baksı Museum and Elgiz Museum. Pirim lives and works in Istanbul and London.
