Ayşe Erkmen’s installation Hochstapler takes part in the exhibition titled Nationalgalerie. Eine Sammlung für das 21. Jahrhundert (Nationalgalerie: A Collection for the 21st Century) at Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart between 16 June 2023 and 31 December 2025. Curated by Sam Bardaouil, Till Fellrath, and Catherine Nichols, the exhibition, with some 80 artworks, invites the public to reflect on the role of art and cultural institutions in fostering inclusion, engagement and social transformation and explores the socio-political and economic factors that have shaped the city and the artistic practices which have emerged from within it.
