The talk on Çağla Ulusoy’s artist’s book OVERWORKED, held at Dirimart London on 6 June, featuring the artist in conversation with ArtReview editor Fi Churchman, is now available to watch on Dirimart’s YouTube channel. OVERWORKED brings together Ulusoy’s abstract paintings alongside collages that reveal the processes behind her practice. The publication features 83 selected paintings in which she employs materials such as acrylic, oil paint, sand, and wax. Across these compositions, harmony and friction coexist on the surface, as the balance between colour and form is continually tested. The accompanying collages further unpack this layered approach, with the book offering insight into Ulusoy’s complex and uncanny visual language.
