The Turkish translation of Fahrelnissa Zeid: Painter of Inner Worlds, the first comprehensive and thoroughly researched biography of one of the pioneering figures of twentieth-century modernism, is back in print with a revised second edition. The book was first published by RES Publications in 2018. Written by Dr. Adila Laïdi-Hanieh, an academic and author specialising in Arab and Middle Eastern art and cultural practices, the biography sheds light on the life of Fahrelnissa Zeid whose work transcends its time, resists easy categorisation, and cannot be readily situated within the dominant artistic movements of the period from which it emerged.
