Shirin Neshat is participating in Looking Back: The Hiroshima Art Prize and Theme ‘Hiroshima’ at the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, on view from 19 July to 30 November 2026. Bringing together works from the museum’s collection alongside commissions created through the Hiroshima Art Prize Programme, the exhibition reflects on memory, peace and the enduring impact of history. Neshat’s work is presented alongside artists including Leon Golub, Alfredo Jaar, Cai Guo-Qiang, Mona Hatoum, and Paul Davis, contributing to a dialogue that spans generations and artistic practices. Revisiting thirty-seven years of the museum’s history, the exhibition examines how contemporary art continues to shape collective memory and historical reflection.
