Austin Eddy at Norman Bird Sanctuary, Rhode Island

Austin Eddy presents Hope Deferred, the artist’s first major site-specific sculptural installation at Norman Bird Sanctuary in Middletown, Rhode Island, on view from 27 August 2026 through June 2027. Organised by Art&Newport, the exhibition features a menagerie of 107 sculptures in ceramic, bronze, aluminium, wood, and plaster, extending Eddy’s long-standing bird motif into an immersive outdoor environment. Installed throughout the sanctuary’s historic barn and surrounding landscape, the project explores themes of memory, belonging, collective experience and the relationship between art and nature. Marking the artist’s first solo museum-scale presentation in New England, Hope Deferred transforms the sanctuary into a contemplative encounter between sculpture, landscape and wildlife.
