Ghada Amer at Hangar Y's artistic walk

Ghada Amer is featured in the open-air exhibition staged across the ten-hectare natural grounds of Hangar Y in Meudon, near Paris, presenting the large-scale bronze sculptures L'étonnement d'Amélie, Suzy Playing and Jennifer and Barbara from her Paravent Girls series. Featuring feminine silhouettes into cast bronze screens, the sculptures establish a porous dialogue between nature and art. Through this installation, Amer explores the interplay between visibility and concealment, while questioning the social and cultural norms that shape the place of the female body within public space and art history. Presented outdoors, the works take on a dynamic form, continuously transformed by the interplay of sunlight and the surrounding landscape, offering ever-evolving perspectives to the viewer.
