Dirimart is pleased to celebrate the 80th birthday of Komet, with an exhibition composed of the paintings he had been working on for two years. The exhibition brings together twelve large-scale (intemporal) figurative paintings and six (Alto-Modern) paintings. Exhibition of Paintings will be on view until December 12.
Komet (b. 1941, Çorum) studied at the workshops of Halil Dikmen and Zeki Faik at the State Academy of Fine Arts 1960-67. In 1971, he was granted a state scholarship and went to Paris and studied at the workshop of Singier at Beaux Arts. Since 1974, he has exhibited extensively at galleries and institutions in Turkey and France, such as Galeri Maçka, Galerie Hilger (Vienna), Museum of Modern Art Vienna, Canton Museum of Art, Paris Museum of Modern Art, Galerie Jean Briance (Paris), Galerie Artist (Berlin).
