Dirimart presents to art enthusiasts the recent works of Peter Zimmermann, who has aroused worldwide interest with the canvases and sculptures he created using epoxy resin.
Using book covers as his source in his works since the 1980s, Zimmermann has made use of posters, wall papers, printed materials and boxes in his creation process through the years. Staring from the mid-1990s, he has introduced a different interpretation in his works by abstracting through computer effects a set of materials he discovered himself. The artist creates compositions from pictures manipulated by transferring into a computer the details extracted from the images featuring a cell structure he examined under a microscope or buildings, mountains and blocks. He then combines this with epoxy material to create works each of which contains frames taken from life. Peter Zimmermann’s exhibition Next of Kin, which includes twelve works by the artist, will be open to visits until 25 April 2010.
