Dirimart is pleased to announce Emerging Abstraction, a duo exhibition featuring the works of Çiğdem Aky and Osamu Kobayashi on Vortic. Both emerging artists are known for their exploration of the emotional and spiritual reception of colors in their abstract works, creating a vibrant and immersive environment for the viewer. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to see the works of these emerging artists and to understand their perspectives on abstraction, color, and the emotional and spiritual states that can be evoked by color in contemporary painting.
Çiğdem Aky considers process of creating art as an ongoing practice. In her works, she merges the elements of depth, structure, and color to create autonomous color spaces that are precise in their effect. She combines the elements of gesture and geometrical forms to create a dynamic interplay between the two. Her works are an exploration of the relations between different colors, and how they interact and influence each other, evoking various feelings through the use of color and composition. Her works are experiments on color, and she uses color to research the possibilities, limits, and conditions of a system.
Osamu Kobayashi creates abstract paintings that are metaphors for how he perceives the world. His works are composed with wide, curving brushstrokes, and bold, bright colors, and soft gradients to create a dynamic and visually striking effects. These expressive brushstrokes evoke emotions and movements, at times revealing a colorful underlayer. His compositions reflect of his own emotional and spiritual experiences are being transferred throughout movements and colors.
