Nasan Tur at Arter

Nasan Tur participates in Under Pressure Above Water, a group exhibition started to be on view at Arter, Istanbul on 12 June 2025. Curated by Nilüfer Şaşmazer and bringing together 33 works by 15 artists across painting, sculpture, and photography, the exhibition unfolds in two interlinked sections that reflect on the anxieties shaped by today’s pressing challenges, such as environmental crises, global conflicts, migration, and economic instability, while exploring how individuals navigate these conditions and seek resilience. The entrance floor presents works that visualise the intellectual and emotional pressure of our time, formed by escalating global issues and narratives of fear. On the lower ground floor, the exhibition shifts focus to strategies of coping and endurance, highlighting how, even under pressure, we attempt to remain ‘above water’. Through diverse artistic approaches – from poetic nuance to acts of resistance – the exhibition reveals how art can give form to both struggle and self-preservation. Under Pressure Above Water can be visited until 11 January 2026.
