Ayşe Erkmen and Nasan Tur will be featured in Manifesta 16, the European Nomadic Biennial, taking place from 21 June to 4 October 2026 across the Ruhr region, Germany. Their works will be presented at St. Gertrud in Essen, in a project curated by René Block and Leonie Herweg. The 16th edition of the biennial focuses on transforming twelve modernist churches into sites for social and artistic dialogue. The curatorial framework is grounded in a dialogical approach, where art emerges through exchanges between artistic practices, social questions, and existing structures, creating new forms of use for the region’s architectural heritage.
