Dirimart is pleased to announce the inauguration of its temporary gallery space at İstinyePark Izmir. Founded in 2002 in Istanbul’s Nişantaşı district, operating exclusively at its premises in Dolapdere since 2016, Dirimart has been instrumental in strengthening Istanbul’s role in the global art world. Having successfully introduced internationally acclaimed artists to Turkey, also strongly committed to promoting established and emerging contemporary artists from Turkey internationally, Dirimart is now excited to introduce its artists to the İzmir art scene with a series of exhibitions.
Dirimart’s İstinyePark space is opening with the eighth edition of Dirimart Presents exhibition series that started in 2009. Dirimart Presents VIII brings together a selection of works of artists represented by the gallery and that are in dialogue with each other. Works by Turkey-based artists Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Güçlü Öztekin, Seçkin Pirim, Ebru Uygun; living and working abroad, Çiğdem Aky, Ayşe Erkmen, Özlem Günyol-Mustafa Kunt, Mustafa Hulusi, Sarkis, Nasan Tur; and artists introduced to Turkey for the first time by Dirimart, Franz Ackermann, Sarah Morris, Shirin Neshat, Jorinde Voigt, and Peter Zimmermann are presented. Revealing various mediums from painting to sculpture, from drawing to neon, the works are on view as part of this program specially devised by Dirimart for the new premises in Izmir.
